Vania Turner

VANIA TURNER (1989) is a Greek-British filmmaker, DoP and editor. Her work explores loss, conflict, redemption and survival. She has filmed humanitarian crises and displacement emergencies in Iraq, DR Congo, CAR, Mozambique and the Central Med, amongst others. She is a regular contributor to Guardian Documentaries and her work has been featured by various international outlets, such as TIME Magazine. From 2017-2019, she worked as UNHCR’s Africa videographer, based in Nairobi and travelling widely to the deep field to cover the refugee situation on the continent. She is currently directing her first feature documentary which explores themes of gender violence, abuse of power and redemption.
