Dimitris Giatzouzakis
Director - Screenwriter
He studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and film-directing with a scholarship from “Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia” in Rome (1983-85). Back to Athens he made his first documentaries and completed his first fiction “SAINT PHANOURIOS’ PIE” (1992) presented in the “Grandeur Local”-Rotterdam retrospective of 30 movies from the film-history. His second feature and some of his documentaries got prizes and distinctions in Greece and abroad like Bergamo, Brussels, Rotterdam, Thessaloniki, Toronto. He’s a script-analyst and development trainer for “MFI Script2Film Workshops” (MEDIA-Creative Europe) and MICROFILM (public TV, short-films workshop).
