Angeliki Antoniou
Director - Screenwriter - Producer
Angeliki Antoniou has a degree in architecture from the University of Thessaloniki- and is a graduate from the DFFB (German Film and Television Academy in Berlin). She has directed feature films and documentaries for cinema and television which have been screened and awarded in prestigious film festivals (Locarno, Berlinale, Göteborg, Montreal, Palm Springs, Moscow, Thessaloniki, Sydney …) and are distributed internationally.
Her critically acclaimed feature “Eduart”, participated in more than 50 film festivals, received several awards- among them the “Golden Antigone” in Montpellier- was selected by the EFA for the 2007 European Film Awards and it was Greece’s Submission for the 80th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film (2008). Her feature film “Green Sea” and her documentary “The Unknown Athenians” premiered both in 2020. “The Unknown Athenians” won next year the Hellenic Academy Film Award for Best Documentary.
She is a member of the European Film Academy and the Documentary Greek Documentary Association and a founding member of the Hellenic Film Academy.
Her independent Production Company, the “Angeliki Antoniou Filmproduktion”, is based in Berlin. Angeliki lives in Berlin and Athens.
